About the VR counselor directory

The VR Service Models and Autism Spectrum Disorders project is collecting information from state directors of vocational rehabilitation services about specialty counselors (or lead counselors) dealing with individuals with ASD who are interested in seeking vocational rehabilitation service supports. This directory is intended to help consumers and families initiate contacts with the VR system.

The following individuals and contact information have been provided by state VR agencies as key contacts for consumers and family members seeking VR services for an individual with autism. This list is updated when new information is made available. The most basic way to perform a search is to scroll through the list of contacts by state. Or search the web page for a specific state or contact name. The search function will attempt to match what you type with data that exists in the directory. The current directory does not include contacts for each state. Additional states and contact information will be added upon receipt from VR administrators.

What is a vCard? Example VCard, contact information

A vCard is an electronic business card that contains contact information about the counselors or specialty counselors in the VR and Autism Spectrum Disorders Project Service Provider Directory. Each vCard contains name and address information, phone numbers, and e-mail. Users can easily download this information in a vCard format into different programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Apple Address Book, and similar programs.

How do I download a vCard?

Below are the steps to download a vCard:

  1. Locate the appropriate “Contact Card” in the Directory.
  2. Click on the vCard icon, located on the "Contact Card".
  3. Open the vCard with your contact program (e.g., Outlook, Apple Address Book) or save to your computer
  4. If you choose the option to Open the vCard file, the file will open as a Contact in your preferred contact program as a new entry.
  5. Save the contact entry by choosing Save and Close.

How do you locate the contact names?

The project is in the process of contacting each state VR director for information about VR counselors with a specialty or lead responsibility in the area of autism. Only names provided by VR administrators are included in this directory.

Where is the contact information for my state?
We post new contact resources to the on-line directory as they arrive. We have requested contact information from each state. If your state is not represented, we are awaiting a contact name.

Updating or Removing Listings
All contact information appears as provided by each state’s VR director. If you feel that the information is inaccurate, it may be due to staffing changes or telephone number changes that occurred since the last update. These listings will be made current in our databases with the next scheduled update.
